Mark offers a photography service to provide a visual record of your ceremony, this service has been carefully designed to suit the needs of smaller group celebrations where a dedicated event photographer is deemed to be inappropriate - our photography service is ideal for elopements, for example.
Our photography service is available as an add-on to our fees for any ceremony we perform, and is charged for by us separately. Please be assured that there is no obligation on you to include this additional service when you book a ritual with us.
- For individuals and a couple of guests, the additional photography fee is £300
- For small groups of up to about a dozen guests, the additional photography fee is £375
Mark will take photographs of the location, the couple, your arrival and departure, plus group pictures of you and all your guests together at one location. Photograph can be taken at additional locations too, subject to availability, although further charges may apply.
You can also opt to either have Mark take unobtrusive photographs during your ceremony (in which case, Helen will be your sole celebrant) OR together Helen and Mark can restage key parts of your ritual afterwards (in which case, Helen and Mark will act as co-celebrants).
We would invite you to discuss your photography requirements with us, without any obligation, so that we can ensure you obtain the coverage of your ceremony and complete photographic record that you want.
All photographs are provided on USB drive for you to make as many copies as you wish (copyright remains with Mark Woodsford-Dean / Spiritual Orkney but you can make as many copies as you want to and reproduce the photographs however you wish); the USB drive will be delivered to you (usually by post).
Most of the photographs on this web-site were taken by Mark – so this gives you a good idea of the standard of photography. Mark has had his photographs published professionally in books and international magazines. One of his photographs was awarded 'commended' by Historic Scotland in their annual members' photography competition in 2019.
Should more than about a dozen people be attending, we recommend that you procure the services of a dedicated event photographer in order to get the fuller photographic coverage usually required (as Mark does not take photographs of the bride getting ready, for example, nor does in take photographs at any reception).
We can recommend dedicated event photographs on request.
Please note that Mark's photography service is only available in conjunction with a ritual which we are also providing.
